Forager Bee is the labour of love of Tauney Stinson, a Renfrew County local, offering foraging classes, outdoor education, handmade pottery, honey and other apiary products, herbal goodies and personal care products. Forager bees are the bees in the hive that go out and collect all the good things nature has to offer and share that information with the hive, much like Tauney does herself.
Tauney has been foraging most of her life, and began teaching in 2019. She’s lead hundreds of people on forays with a focus on safety and sustainability. From 2022-2024, she was the professor of Wild Edibles at Algonquin College in the Outdoor Adventure Naturalist program, and is an admin in the Edible Wild Ontario and Ottawa Valley Mushroom groups on Facebook, as well as president of the Upper Ottawa Valley Beekeepers’ Association. Along with her friends at Anupaya Cabin Co and Perch restaurant in Ottawa, she’s helped create the wildly successful Wild Path dinner and Field and Forest events. In 2025, Tauney created the Hobbit Hike and Goblin Market, an immersive Lord of the Rings-inspired fantasy market and outdoor festival in association with her friend Nikki at Elements Luxury Camp in Renfrew. She’s been featured on CBC Radio One, the Eganville Leader’s annual tourism magazine, the Valley Gazette, and other publications, and gives talks for a variety of schools, horticultural societies, and other groups. She is a certified Pollinator Steward with Pollinator Partnership, a graduate of the Lakehead University Ontario Master Naturalist program, a certified honey sommelier, a student of the Sacred Gardener School, and has a variety of other certifications in herbalism, mushroom identification, and more.

You can find Forager Bee products at markets and events listed on the Event Page, as well as Ottawa Valley Coffee (Renfrew and Arnprior locations), Golden Gatherings in Golden Lake, and Mystical Elements in Renfrew, or our online shop.
